COME VARELA, RAFAEL?

Manchester united have succeeded to sign the Uruguay young defender from FC Penarol. He is only 20 years of age. Due to lack of experience he didn't get enough time to play at Penarol. Varela started his professional football at Penarol. He has been playing in the junior team before being promoted to the senior team.

Varela starred in the Under 20 games in South America for Uruguay, and that is where his skills became known. The Under 20 Uruguay squad reached the final in that competition. In the final Uruguay was eliminated by Brazil.

After the wonderful performance in that U-20 games then Man U scouts saw him with a very sharp and decisive eye. He was given time to play for trials at Man United and no wonder he was successful.

Wow. Valera after signing for Man U. Good move. Viva Man U

At Man U Varela is expected to play as right defender and this is the position which Rafael play. If Varela is very good and of course that is the reason Man U hunted for him, what will be the position of Rafael? Other team coaches have at times succeeded to convert right defenders into right wingers. Will this be the option? definitely, David Moyes will handle that. Time will tell.
